Final Update – 11 March 2025

We are pleased to advise that the North-South rail line is expected to re-open at 06:30 AEST tomorrow, 12 March, following inspections confirming no significant track damage – debris clearing is underway.

To support clearing the backlog within the rail network, our rail providers are working to run additional services between Melbourne and Brisbane.

Our Sadleirs Logistics Brisbane Operations will return to full operation on Friday, 14 March, and we expect to clear outstanding freight by early next week.

We appreciate your patience and support as we work through the final impacts of Cyclone Alfred.

If you have any concerns or require further details, please contact your Local Sadleirs Representative.

Kind regards,
The Sadleirs Logistics Team

Update #2 – 10 March 2025

While Tropical Cyclone Alfred has been downgraded, its impact on the rail network remains significant due to cumulative rainfall and a heightened risk of flooding.

The North-South rail line between Taree and Acacia Ridge remains closed, affecting the following rail services:

  • Melbourne ↔ Brisbane
  • Adelaide ↔ Brisbane
  • Perth ↔ Brisbane
  • Sydney ↔ Brisbane

Current estimates indicate a potential reopening by the end of this week, though this remains subject to conditions and ongoing assessments.

Our Sadleirs Logistics Brisbane branch remains open, operating with a skeleton staff, as we continue to monitor the situation.

We will provide further updates as conditions evolve. In the meantime, for any inquiries, please contact your Local Sadleirs Representative.

Kind regards,
The Sadleirs Logistics Team

Update #1 – 5 March 2025

As Tropical Cyclone Alfred intensifies, rail services will be disrupted impacting freight movements in and out of Brisbane.

To prioritise the safety of our staff and the security of your goods, the Sadleirs Logistics Brisbane branch will temporarily suspend operations on Thursday, 6 March, and Friday, 7 March.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will work with local authorities to restore services as soon as conditions allow. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

For shipment inquiries, please contact our Customer Service Team at customerservice@sadleirs.com.au.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Kind regards,
The Sadleirs Logistics Team
