Update –  18th July 2022

Following on from our recent advice, we confirm the Sydney to Brisbane rail line has re-opened, and services in/out of Brisbane have resumed.

We are working to clear through our backlog, and expect all freight to be in transit by Thursday of this week.

Sadleirs appreciates the patience and continued support provided by our customers through what has been a challenging time with the weather events impacting the performance of the rail network.

Note we are still experiencing severe congestion on the network, with our Sydney to Perth services the most affected. Furthermore a number of temporary speed restrictions (TSR’s) are currently in place which will affect freight availability.

We will continue to monitor the situation.

Please contact your Sadleirs Representative should you require further information.

Update – 14th July 2022

Further to our previous notifications, please note that the track opening on the Sydney to Brisbane rail line will now be late Sunday 17th July, and services to/from Brisbane remain cancelled until this date.

We also advise of a derailment at Gunning NSW, between Goulburn and Yass, approx. 260 km south-west of Sydney. This is affecting our Sydney to Perth routes, and we are expecting a minimum 24 hour delay.

The forecast for track re-opening is Monday night 18th July.

We apologise for any inconvenience to you and your customers.

This flooding in NSW and this derailment in Gunning are having a significant impact of the performance of the overall rail network. We will continue to keep you updated on these disruptions and we ask for patience as we work to clear any backlog.

Please contact your local Sadleirs Representative should you require further information.

Kind Regards,
Sadleirs Logistics Team
